On April 10th 2016 I went to my very first junior European tennis tournament in Bressuire in France which is in the Poitou Charantes region. The age-groups were Under 11 and Under 12 and I was in the Under 11’s.

About 250 players came from all over the world, but mostly Europe. This is my blog about the the tournament. It was an amazing experience and hopefully I can go back to Bressuire next year to play in the Under 12 tournament. I played in singles and doubles and each match was 3 full sets although in doubles, you just play a tie-break to ten in the third set if you need to.

All the players were in different hotels because there were so many. I stayed in a B&B ten minutes away from the club. It used to be a farmhouse and had chicken, dogs, cats and a donkey. Melanie who owned it was a great cook.
